Soccer Violence?
Is this what you really want?
This ain't the place..
Is this what you are looking forward to on every weekend?
This ain't the sports..
It may well have been common places, but it had no place as far as I AM CONCERN..
Two players exchanged words on a field, one turn around and physically assault the other, and how do we justify this???
All hell broke lose, players taking cheap shots on the poor chap lying on the ground..
A COWARDLY ACT indeed. An innocent guy got the worse hit.
Play for the "fun of it". Remember that the aims of the game are to have fun, improve your skills and feel good.
Control your temper and use your energy for playing football.
Play by the laws of the game. It is easy to learn and this will make you a better player.
Remember violence doesn't resolve matters. Never condone unacceptable behaviour by not acting upon it. |

United FC vs Spurs
WED 9 AUG 2006, 5PM, TANGLIN PITCH 4
EL Estee Spurs triumphant on the opening match of the Sundowners' Champions League. United FC played with 10 men for almost the entire game when in the 10th minute one of them left the play with an injury. They truly live up to their team name United. Not even once they look disjointed and played clean and entertaining football eventhough they lost the match. EL Estee registered a fine 4 - 1 victory.
Most importantly the match was played in the true spirit of the game. Even though the referee's decision was often being debated, both sides did not take matters into their own hands. EL Estee Spurs left back, An was a fine example when he sportingly carried his injured opponent, Jeff, all the way back to the sideline. An then left the pitch leaving EL Estee Spurs to play with 10 players and United FC playing with 9. A conduct considered fitting for a sportsperson.
